How to build it

  1. Mark out: snap chalk lines for the 2265 mm wide x 300 mm deep frame on the floor, transfer them to the ceiling with a laser or plumb bob, and locate the ceiling joists. Check the wall for pipes and cables before fixing.
  2. Cut every member from Sheet C-02 board by board, then write its part ID on each piece in pencil so nothing gets mixed up.
  3. Fix the sole plates (P-01) to the floor and the head plates to the ceiling joists, front and rear lines, with a fixing every 400-600mm.
  4. Stand the full-height king studs (S-01) at both ends of each line; screw through the plates and check plumb in both directions.
  5. Fit the TV trimmers (T-01), then the TV sill and header (H-01) so the opening measures exactly 1945 mm x 1135 mm, with its bottom edge 1050 mm above the floor.
  6. Fit the fireplace sill and lintel (F-01) for a 1210 mm x 460 mm opening, bottom 320 mm above the floor. Follow the fireplace maker's clearance and ventilation rules.
  7. Join the front and rear frames with the depth noggins (D-01) and fit the VESA backer rails (B-01) inside the TV pocket where the bracket bolts will land.
  8. Run power, HDMI conduit and any LED cabling now, before boarding. Fit the flanking slat battens (A-01) if your design has side wings.
  9. Board, tape and fill; prime and paint; then hang the TV on the backer rails.

Tools: Mitre / circular saw, Drill-driver + impact driver, Spirit level (1200mm / 4ft), Tape measure, square, pencil, Stud / cable detector, Laser level (recommended).
